Morbier Croque-Monsieur

  • 200g sliced Morbier
  • 8 slices of soft bread, crusts removed
  • 4 thin slices of boiled ham
  • 40g thick crème fraîche
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Step 1

Spread the crème fraîche (or bechamel sauce) on one side of the slices of bread.
Cut the ham into the same size as the bread. Slice the Morbier thinly, remove the rind.

Step 2

Place the four slices of bread, crème fraîche side up, in front of you.
Season, and cover the slices with the strips of Morbier and then the ham.
Place the second slice of bread, crème fraîche side up, on top of the first.
Cover with some strips of Morbier.

Step 3

Cook in a hot oven for ten minutes or so.
When the croque is cooked, you can slice it in two diagonally and serve with a salad.
